We publish around 120 stories a day across politics, business, world affairs, technology, sport, opinion and culture, for readers in Coravia and across the Meridian Accord. Our journalism is funded by readers and advertising — never by any political party, government or interest group.

Editorial standards

Everything we publish is governed by the Montlior Editorial Code, which binds every member of staff and every freelance contributor. Its core commitments:

Corrections policy

When we get something wrong, we say so — quickly, plainly and in the same place the error appeared. Significant errors of fact are corrected in the article with a dated note; materially updated articles carry an “Updated” timestamp; corrections to breaking coverage are made in the live file itself, not silently.

Spotted an error? Email corrections@montliornews.com with a link to the article. We aim to respond within two working days.

Ownership & funding

Montlior News is wholly owned by the Montlior Group, whose shares are held by the Montlior Trust — a purpose trust established in 1988 to guarantee the title’s editorial independence in perpetuity. The trust deed prohibits the sale of the newsroom to any single commercial or political owner.

Complaints

If you believe our journalism has breached the Editorial Code and a correction has not resolved it, escalate to the readers’ editor at readers.editor@montliornews.com. The readers’ editor operates independently of the news desks and publishes findings quarterly.
